In Voice: The Grey Lynn Community Choir - 2016
Love to Sing for the pure joy of it? Love to sing in harmony?
Come along for some fantastic, fun, uplifting singing.
Can't read music? Never been in a choir before? Never been trained?
All fine by us! The only prerequisite is that you want to sing and that you are keen to improve your singing.
The first rehearsal of 2016 is on February 4.
in the Garden Room of the Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Rd, Grey Lynn.
We meet on Thursdays at 7.30 pm - 9.00 pm.
We encourage new members - we are a community choir, there are no auditions and everyone is welcome. You don’t have to live in Grey Lynn; our members come from all over Auckland. All we ask is a commitment to turn up and sing to the best of your ability.
We sing a range of music, including renaissance, gospel, pop, and world music. Our conductor, Margaret Lindsay, is a registered singing teacher and a very experienced community choir leader. We perform occasionally through the year, mainly at Grey Lynn community events, and we will put on a couple of concerts through the year for family and friends.
We run practices right through the year, apart from a two week break mid-year. The cost for a quarter’s membership is $100 waged, $80.00 unwaged. Casual rates are $12/10 per night.
